WEB : Watchmen First Trailer

Okay.. I literally had orgasm watching this.

Watchmen First Trailer..
with Smashing Pumpkins's "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" as the background music.
How perfect was that!?

(click the pic below to see the HD trailer in QuickTime)

Check out the Entertainment Weekly cover too.

Honestly speaking, it looks better than I expected.
Snyder, my man... coming from a Watchmen fan,
I think you nailed it dood.

ahhh excited nyer tgk gamba... tapi damn, sini takbley play la plak trailer tu. Kene tunggu blk umah jugak :(

eh bkn lagu SP tu lagu utk Batman (Forever?) ke? hahahaa

Lagu SP yang faymes dlm Batman soundtrack tu 'The End is the Beginning is the End'. Dalam trailer ni lagu 'The Beginning is the End is the Beginning' which is a mellow, down-tune version of 'The End is the Beginning is the End', with the same lyrics and melody.

Very confusing.. but that's what it is..

"...coming from a Watchmen fan..."

All and all the weirdest statement of the year.

Edd Vedder said...

Why is it so hard for people to believe that there is a lot of Watchmen fans in this world..? I get the same reaction for that statement every time I say it. I have a circle of friends who memorized everything in the Watchmen novels, from start to finish. Why is that weird? Only 'exclusive', 'special' people read Watchmen?? Malaysian aren't suppose to know the existence of Watchmen??

C'mon.. that's fuckin' lame. Unlike certain people, I don't blog about it if I don't give a fuck about it.

I didn't say it was the most untrue statement I heard all year. I said it was the weirdest. Two different things there, fella.

And it's even weirder with your circle of friends since, from your saying, they've read (and Good God, memorized from start to finish) more than just one graphic novel.

As a flat-footed, unimaginative comic reader, I'm just astounded with that revelation. That's all.

Weirdest? Why man? What so weird about saying that I'm a Watchmen fan?

"..And it's even weirder with your circle of friends since, from your saying, they've read (and Good God, memorized from start to finish) more than just one graphic novel."

- swear to god dood.. he has the 400+ pages paperback version, and he remembers everything. You should meet him. Now... THAT'S weird.

"Weirdest? Why man? What so weird about saying that I'm a Watchmen fan?"

The statement is weird not because it came from you, the Edd Vedder. It's the proclaimation itself. It's still weird if it came from Zack who doesn't know jack about Watchmen or even Mark Millar. If you really know about the Watchmen comic - the material, I think you can understand what I mean. It's just weird, man. How can one said he or she is a "big fan" of something stand alone like Watchmen? Can one say he or she is a big fan of The Beatles' In My Life. "Ooo, I'm a big fan of 'In My Life' by The Beatles. Ooo."

"...swear to god dood.. he has the 400+ pages paperback version, and he remembers everything."

All right, this is too much. Not the weirdness of your friend, but the whole thing. You said you have a vicious circle of friends who knows Watchmen by heart, yet here you said you have a friend - singular - who owns the Watchmen TP (what's so weird about it having 400 plus pages? Aren't they all? How many pages does the version you own has?) and knows it by heart. I mean, what happened to the rest of the gang? Did you guys have a fight between your two comments there? C'mon la, not very healthy, man. Better reconcile balik dengan diorang. Tak baik gaduh-gaduh. And put a stop on this crazy weirdness and shit once and for all.

- yes, they can. Doesn't sound weird to me.

"what's so weird about it having 400 plus pages? Aren't they all? How many pages does the version you own has?"

- nothing weird. It's a statement.

"what happened to the rest of the gang?"

- they're still doing whatever their doing.

"Did you guys have a fight between your two comments there?"

- No.

"You said you have a vicious circle of friends who knows Watchmen by heart, yet here you said you have a friend - singular - who owns the Watchmen TP"

- Yes I have a circle of friends who knows Watchmen by heart..and one of them - or in your words, that 'singular friend' - is a few cubicles away from me in the office. I was talking about him.

..put a stop on this crazy weirdness and shit once and for all.

- What crazy weirdness? I still don't get it.

Ahh.. whatever.

You DO realised that all the Watchmen TPs are 400 plus pages, right? I mean, do you always describe books by their pages too? Like, "Hey, I have the 200+ pages of Fight Club novel" or "Hey, I have the 500+ pages of Mr Playboy: Hugh Hefner and the American Dream book."

Plus, you yourself swear to God that he has a 400+ pages TP. If it's just a statement, why do you have to swear to God, man, like it is something out of this world? I mean look at your original post here: "...swear to god dood.. he has the 400+ pages paperback version..."

Doesn't sound like a mere statement to me.

"Yes I have a circle of friends who knows Watchmen by heart..and one of them - or in your words, that 'singular friend' - is a few cubicles away from me in the office. I was talking about him."

If you have a circle of friends who knows Watchmen by heart (and of course, has the 400+ pages TP), why all of a sudden you just demote your talking to this particular dude? What makes him so special from the rest of the gang?

Anyway, best of luck, Edd. Looking forward to see you coming out of obscure as a fan - or a big fan, I supposed - of Scott Pilgrim (would-be directed by Edgar Wright), Black Hole (David Fincher) and We3 (no director yet, but Grant Morrison has written the script adaptation himself). That should be interesting.

- Yes I do realize. No I don't always describe books by their pages. But in that statement I did. So?

"If you have a circle of friends who knows Watchmen by heart (and of course, has the 400+ pages TP), why all of a sudden you just demote your talking to this particular dude? What makes him so special from the rest of the gang?"

- Because he's here, in the office. The rest of the gang is studying/working overseas. Nothing special. So?

"Looking forward to see you coming out of obscure as a fan - or a big fan, I supposed - of Scott Pilgrim (would-be directed by Edgar Wright), Black Hole (David Fincher) and We3 (no director yet, but Grant Morrison has written the script adaptation himself). That should be interesting."

- heard of it. Never read it. So?

"Anyway, best of luck, Edd."

-Thanks.

* still can't see the weirdness of calling myself a Watchmen fan.

But why?? Why do ya have to mention it in that statement?

"Because he's here, in the office. The rest of the gang is studying/working overseas. Nothing special. So?"

Nothing special? Yet, you told me this earlier: "You should meet him. Now... THAT'S weird." If he's nothing special, why should I meet him and whaddaya ya mean by "THAT's weird" back then?

Edd Vedder said...

"But why?? Why do ya have to mention it in that statement?"

- I dunno. Maybe to emphasize my point that although the novel is thick, my buddy could remember everything.

"If he's nothing special, why should I meet him and whaddaya ya mean by "THAT's weird" back then?"

- It's weird because I never met you in person, and yet I'm introducing my 'no special' friend to you.

Cut the bullshit. Dude, dah tgk Redbelt? Just finished downloading today. Kinda' excited to watch.

Edd, lagu The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning tu ada jugak dalam CD soundtrack Batman tu.

It's the proclaimation itself. It's still weird if it came from Zack who doesn't know jack about Watchmen or even Mark Millar.

Hey, hey, jack, er, back off Nazim Masnawi!
