WEB : Robocop - Recharged for 2010

LOS ANGELES, July 24, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM) has signed Darren Aronofsky to direct and David Self to write a new installment for its ROBOCOP franchise. Aronofsky, the director of "The Fountain," and Self, the writer of "Road to Perdition," make a formidable creative team, fast tracking the ROBOCOP motion picture and spotlighting it as one of the most anticipated new films for 2010.

Aronofsky has confirmed. Who do you think should take the mantle from Peter Weller (no disrespect to Robert Burke in Robocop 3) and play the super cop?

Wentworth Miller, hands down! He's got the voice and he's got the lips. And it's about time that hybrid dude marks his place in the silver screen.

dude.. u know what, I think u're right. Wentworth kinda' fits the bill. I was thinking of Daniel Craig but, I doubt he will take on the role. But Bale did Terminator so I'm guessing the odds are open.

    How about Hugo Weaving?

    * newsflash - the new Robocop is a sequel, not a remake. Yikes!
