• Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's testimonial yesterday came 12 years after he joined Manchester United, aged 23, from Norwegian club Molde for £1.5m. Although the striker usually started matches on the bench, he soon picked up the nickname, 'the baby-faced assassin', for his ability to plunder goals and his boyish looks.

• He won six League titles and two FA Cups at United. His greatest moment, however, came in 1999 when he came on to score the last-minute winner in the European Cup final against Bayern Munich in the Nou Camp, to give United an unprecedented Treble.

• In total, he made 366 appearances for the club, the last coming in scoring 126 goals before a knee injury ended his career in the summer of 2007. He holds the club record for most goals scored as a substitute. He also won 67 caps for Norway, with 23 international goals.

• Since retiring, he has been appointed United's reserve team coach, and is also a UNICEF ambassador and the youngest recipient of Norway's equivalent of a knighthood.

It was simple. Arsenal was roundly embarrassed by an unquestionably superior Manchester United today. Exhibiting absolutely none of the qualities that have placed them atop the Premier League table and all of the qualities that make them such a despicable, loathsome club, Arsenal may not have fielded their first choice side, but their performance was anything but first class.

From William Gallas being forced to eat his words, to Emmanuel Eboue's straight red, to Cesc Fabregas' disappearing act, to Emmanuel Adebayor's laughable dive, Arsenal were not simply defeated, they humiliated themselves.

And we don't even have Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes and Tevez in the starting eleven.

I rarely start my Monday with a smile... and here I am smiling like a clown.

SPORTS : Guard of Honor for The Champions

It's been days since Man Utd was officially crowned 2006/2007 Premiership Champions. I've felt like posting a couple of days ago, but I was waiting for the above event to happen.

...The Guard of Honour.

It is a tradition in English football for a Guard of Honour to be made for the champions when there are crowned. The opposition team line on either side and honoured the champions by applauding as they walked through the pitch.

We deserved it. We really deserved it. This title is the team's greatest achievement to date simply because it's a relatively new team and really it's their first attempt at winning a title together. This team will get better, I can feel it.

Congratulations also to our 2 former boys, Roy Keane and Steve Bruce for their Premiership promotion. I can't wait to see Keano and Sir Alex matchup next season. It's gonna be mega.

That's how I felt.. We really thought this is the year for us to repeat the infamous 99 treble. But sadly, it was not to be. To be fair, Milan was the better team. Even Sir Alex admitted that Milan deserved to win the match. But what really annoyed me was that we weren't playing our best. We played our worst football in a game that needed us to be the best. We weren't ourselves.

On a lighter note, we are still in it for the double. So come on you Reds! Let's finish this season with some trophies and some pride and honour. United We Stand!

Congratulations to Liverpool and Ac Milan. May the best team win.

P/S: To Jose Moan-rinho. For once, just for once.. admit your team's defeat. It doesn't make you less of a man if for once, you came out to the press and say '..yes, we weren't the better team. They deserve it'. Take Fergie as an example. He's a masterclass. Instead of blaming the referees, the officials, the coach, the opponent, the tackling, the penalty.. whatever, just blame yourself and your team. Stop being a sore loser.. and SHUT THE FARK UP!

The Loss of A Great Leader...

Thank you for the wonderful 12 years at Manchester United. I grew up watching Keano play and it will be different without him on the team. The best midfield player in the world of his generation. Keano has been central to the success of Man Utd in the last 12-and-a-half years and has been a towering figure at the club. His dedication, talent and leadership have been qualities that have marked him out as one of the true greats. Simply irreplaceable.

I wish him well in the rest of his career and beyond.
Thanks for everything Mr Royston Maurice Keane.

The Superior No. 16

Another weekend spent at the office. Tapi minggu ni ofis aku ada tournament futsal. So sempat jugak la aku ke bukit jalil untuk tengok diaorang main. Nama aku actually ada team department aku. Tapi tak tahu kenapa aku malas nak main. Lagipun aku ada keja kat ofis. Aku takde la terror sangat main bola ni or in other words 'benchfeet' jugak la, tapi boleh la setakat nak main biasa-biasa. Aku dapat rasa yang aku lebih minat kepada the tactical side of football. Ramai orang ingat main bola ni setakat sepak bola ke depan aja. Open play, offensive, defensive, attacking press, counter attack, long ball.. there's a lot of tactical play involved in football. Aku suka tengok the different way a football team play against a different opponent at a different time. Benda-benda tu la yang buat aku tertarik pada bolasepak ni. Aku rasa aku lebih minat jadi coach dari jadi player. Aku penah jadi coach/manager team bola kolej aku masa matrik dulu. Walaupun benda tu takde la hebat sangat tapi i love every minute of it. Jadi coach bola best gak kan? Hmmm..

The biggest news in football this week has got to be the Roy Keane statement in MUTV. REDS captain Roy Keane has shocked United fans by admitting he is set to walk away from Old Trafford at the end of the season. Keano (as we Red Devils refers him to) contract is set to expire at the end of this season, but it had been expeced that he would extend his stay at the club by another year and start his move into coaching. But instead the Irishman has announced that he intends to leave the club once his deal is up, and will look to extend his playing career outside the Premiership. Celtic are expected to be his first choice with Keane being able to start talks over a move out of the club in January.

Shit. No Keano in MU? That's like losing a family member, man. I grew up watching him play! He's the guy that took the torch from my reason for supporting Man Utd, Bryan Robson. And he gave me another solid reason for me to suport the team. A midfield dynamo. One of the most influential player ever. Supreme footballer. He is the epitome of the unwavering spirit and desire to succeed that Man Utd stands for. Few sportsmen lead from the front in the way Keane does, both on and off the pitch. A natural leader and skipper. Certainly will be one of the greatest player in Manchester United. I mean, have you ever heard any other footballer with a London musical entitled 'I,Keano' writen specifically about him?. Or any footballer with a tribute song entitled 'Roy's Keen' by lifelong supporter, Morrisey? That's how great he is. So when u realized you are losing one of your greatest player, you panic.

But I guess that time has come. Great players come and go. I had the same feeling when Cantona decided to call it quits. He certainly can't be playing football up till he's 45 years old. But I do hope he call it quits while he’s still wearing a Man Utd jersey. The sight of seeing him in another team jersey is too much for me to stomach. I guess the statement that he made in MUTV is just a hint for the Man Utd management to offer him a new contract comes January. But everybody now is already talking about his replacement. Smith, Ballack, Gerrard, Diara, Zokora, Gravesen - are some of the names mentioned as potential candidates for his replacement. Wanna know what I think? Shut up! You cannot replace him! He's irreplaceable. I guess Carlos Queiroz said it best - "You don't replace great players like Pele, Maradona or Roy Keane. You just create new players in new teams. That is why the game moves forward."

Nuff said.

.. the European wave is coming again.!

.. dah kul 8 lebih and i'm still at the office. Last 2 days my office had this network problem and I couldn't acess to the internet macam biasa. Line lembab and kejap ada kejap takde. So semalam aku ada kelas AI kat UKM KL. Kelas dia buat dalam lab so aku pun apa lagi.. lepas geram online la. Aku tengok dalam blog aku ramai jugak yang tinggal komen. Otai2 bloggers pun dah melawat blog buruk aku ni.. That's very positive. I promise there will be more interesting topic to talk about. Thanks 4 the support.!

It's that time of the year again ladies and gentlemen. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE is coming again..!! Minggu depan dah start. Ini antara yearly event yang memang aku suka sejak dari dulu lagi. It's the battle of the champions. Europe's best competing with each other. Ini adalah masa untuk sesebuah pasukan tu untuk membuktikan samada dia tu jaguh kampung ataupun power nak mampus..!! Dalam group A aku rasa memang obvious Bayern dan Juventus akan top the group. Juventus ngan Bayern ni memang maintain form dia dalam UEFA Champions League (UCL) . Susah la untuk Brugge ngan Rapid Vienna nak cantas.

Group B ada team rival aku yang aku paling tak suka iaitu Arsenal. So aku harap mmg la dia tak lepas. Ditambah pulak dengan rekod buruk Arsenal dalam UCL. Tapi tengok group dia, cuma Ajax aja yang boleh bagi saingan sengit kan..? Tolong la FC Thun..! Buat kejutan sket..

Group C ada team yang aku rasa main bola paling stylish sekali iaitu Barcelona. Maybe Werder Bremen dan Barcelona akan top the group tapi aku tengok Udinese punya form pun boleh tahan gak..

My team is in Group D. Man Utd will definitely top the group this year. And aku tak sabar nak tengok MU lawan Villareal di Old Trafford. Bukan apa, aku nak tengok Diego Forlan main semula kat Old Trafford. Kalau dia score dan terbukti yang dia memang power, memang sah la dia hebat dan better main di Spanish League. Tapi kalau dia main cam sial, memang sah dia ada badi kat Old Trafford.. :)

Group E ada team yang aku rasa macam confirm akan masuk final UCL lagi tahun ni iaitu AC Milan. Dia dah ada Gillardino pastu dia beli Vieri. Jangan lupa yang dia still ada Shevchenko. And Pippo Inzaghi. Defend dia tak yah citer la.. Memang yang terbaik di Eropah. Mmg power gila team ni. Tapi jangan lupa yang dia akan main di negara badi dia iaitu Turki bila lawan Fenerbache nanti. Maybe peluang untuk PSV Eindhoven to top the group.

Real Madrid. Group F ni memang dia punya. The Galacticos really has it this year. Aku kagum gila dengan Robinho. Budak ni memang bakal jadi bintang besar dunia. Semalam baru confirm yang dia beli Sergio Ramos. So good news untuk defend dia yang tak berapa nak ok sangat. Julio Baptista pun ada.. hmmm. Tapi kekadang terlalu banyak star dalam satu team pun tak menjanjikan kemenangan yang total. If they mess up, Lyon will definitely take advantage.

Group yang paling orang suka nak cakap and suka nak tengok is Group G. Dalam tu ada the UCL trophy holders iaitu Liverpool dan jugak team yang makin lama makin poyo iaitu Chelsea. Aku punya instinct kuat mengatakan yang Anderlecht dan Real Betis akan buat kejutan dalam group ni. Sebab diaorang 'dark horse' so pressure tak kuat. I really hope they will top the group.

Group H is a three way competition. It takes a miracle for a club like Artmedia to win. Inter Milan macam biasa akan bergantung kepada atas super-power strikernya, Adriano. Baru start musim baru bola sepak tahun ni, mamat ni dah buat 2 hattrick..!! Memang dia akan jadi top scorer lagi tahun ni. Ditambah pulak dengan kehadiran 2 kuda tua yang masih boleh pakai, Figo and Solari, aku rasa Inter Milan akan top the group. Porto is a one hit wonder dan aku rasa bolasepak dia membosankan. Aku suka tengok Rangers main and I really fancy them to follow Inter to progress to the next round.

Biasa musim UCL ni, aku ngan bebudak ofis aku ni akan compete dalam UCL Fantasy Football. Tapi aku website dia (sini) still tak bukak lagi. Takkan takde kot tahun ni? Ala.. bosan aaa. Takkan kitaorang nak compete EPL Fantasy Football aja. UCL Fantasy Football mencabar sket sebab ramai sangat star dan ia akan membuatkan players pening kepala every week untuk memilih pemain dalam team dia..

Puas hati aku tengok Van Nistelrooy score tadi. 2 wins and 2 clean sheets, it looks like a good start for the new season. Yes I am a Red Devil. Aku ni bukan picisan atau what they call penyokong lalang. Aku dah sokong Man Utd sejak aku tingkatan 1 lagi. One of the reason aku sokong MU disebabkan oleh Bryan Robson, idola aku masa tu. Aku ni tak la pandai sangat main bola, tapi disebabkan minat yang melampaui batas terhadap bolasepak especially EPL, aku boleh tahu nama kebanyakan players bolasepak, kelab mana yang diaorang main, asal dari negara mana, umur berapa, position apa diaorang main dan kelab mana yang teringin nak beli diaorang. Ditambah pulak my other ‘job’ as a football manager dalam game ‘Championship Manager 5’ dan jugak team fantasy football aku yang boleh tahan, aku ni sebenarnya gila bola beb. Aku selalu mimpi kalau la aku dapat jumpa dengan ‘abang-abang’ aku macam Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and my favourite Man Utd player ever KING Eric Cantona. Fuhh..! Best tuuu…!

So anyone nak join league fantasy football aku..? Ada berani..? Kalau interested cuba create team kat sini. And maybe aku bleh create satu league baru. Setakat ni aku bertanding dengan budak2 ofis aku and few of my closest friend. Team aku takde la power sangat, sbb rules aku satu aja : NO Arsenal and Liverpool players in my team. So kalau Henry ke, Gerrard ke score 4 gol dalam every game, mmg kalah teruk la aku..! Arsenal ngan Liverpool kan rivals. Mana boleh aku pick players diaorang. It’s almost against the law, man.! Cuma Chelsea aja yang aku boleh tahan lagi. Not yet anyway.. Maybe kalau Mourinho menang lagi tahun ni, and dia bikin panas lagi dengan Sir Alex, aku akan isytihar sebagai rival. Tapi aku tengok sekarang ni Mourinho makin poyo kan..?

But then again, that’s just me… :)
